Hoooo boy! Just typing that title makes my heart race a bit. EXCITING!
Above & below are some big-time "mixed media" drawings/paintings... by "big-time", I mean, take virtually everything I've used as a medium over the years and throw it together and voila! Here we are and I'm preliminarily calling them "water carbons".
I've done all of these in the last few days, that's how electrified this has me (and there's a 5th at the sketch stage as I type this, even - see below for a peek). I'm really interested to hear what you think, if you could leave a comment (or a heart), that'd be swell. #moreart
Gallery 25N "Faces of Humanity" Exhibition
Opens Feb. 6, 2017
Huzzah! 5 of my Derby Portraits were chosen for an online "Faces of Humanity" exhibition that opens later this week at gallery25N.com!
Thank you to my roller derby teammates from the Ann Arbor Derby Dimes for their faces!
See all of them (there are 14) here on my website, if you're curious (and haven't heard me talk about this a million times): http://www.meganlovestodraw.com/derbyportraits
FusionArt.com - Watercolor Quarterly Group Exhibition
January 15, 2017 - April 14, 2017
It's also an honor to be chosen for a small group of 8 watercolorists for this Fusion Art exhibition.
They say, "Eight artists were chosen to participate in Fusion Art's first quarterly group exhibition. All the artists who participated in the competition have uniquely creative talents but the winners chosen exemplify a mastery in the use of the watercolor medium."
As someone who was never a natural painter, this is so gratifying. Perseverance pays off, friends. A big thank you to Peggy Macnamara without whom I would've never thought this medium was within my reach. Onward!

I haven't done much of any (ink) pointillism since high school, when I learned it (25 years ago, WHAT?). I saw something online that was probably just a bad bitmap image, but it inspired me. Here's the result (with a closeup):
We here at meganlovestodraw support an inclusive, all-loving, accepting United States. (Well, me, because... who are we kidding? This is pretty much just yours truly at the helm.) To that end, we oppose a lot of what is happening regarding the new administration, including the nod given to Mr. Bannon. So, in a very MLTD-way, we protest with art. Enjoy my fiddlings with this GANZ postcard that I bought for a $1.
Thank you all for getting me onto the leaderboard in Art Prize's public vote! Round one voting ends TOMORROW NIGHT at 11:59pm; that determines who makes it to the next round and I'd love to be a part of that! I'm asking for one final push for votes, so, if you like my entry, please share this with your friends & head off to Grand Rapids!
See my entry at Women's City Club from now until Oct. 9th in Grand Rapids. Voting for the finalists ends on Oct. 1st, this Saturday. You don't have to be IN FRONT OF my piece to vote for it (see a how-to here), but you DO have to be in GR. My voter ID is 62588. I really appreciate your support - you have no idea!
