Two New Online Exhibitions Contain My Work!

Gallery 25N "Faces of Humanity" Exhibition
Opens Feb. 6, 2017

Huzzah! 5 of my Derby Portraits were chosen for an online "Faces of Humanity" exhibition that opens later this week at gallery25N.com!

Thank you to my roller derby teammates from the Ann Arbor Derby Dimes for their faces!

See all of them (there are 14) here on my website, if you're curious (and haven't heard me talk about this a million times): http://www.meganlovestodraw.com/derbyportraits

FusionArt.com - Watercolor Quarterly Group Exhibition
January 15, 2017 - April 14, 2017

It's also an honor to be chosen for a small group of 8 watercolorists for this Fusion Art exhibition.

They say, "Eight artists were chosen to participate in Fusion Art's first quarterly group exhibition. All the artists who participated in the competition have uniquely creative talents but the winners chosen exemplify a mastery in the use of the watercolor medium."

As someone who was never a natural painter, this is so gratifying. Perseverance pays off, friends. A big thank you to Peggy Macnamara without whom I would've never thought this medium was within my reach. Onward!

My Q&A with YpsiReal!

I'm so happy that I got to talk to Ypsi Real (part of the Ypsilanti Convention and Visitor's Bureau) about my experience as an artist in my town, Ypsilanti, Michigan. How nice was it for them to ask me?? It's quite something to be thought of as worthy to represent where you live! Also, getting my work in front of people is SO important as a fine artist. It's especially gratifying when part of one's work revolves around residents of where you live (i.e., the derby portraits)! Thank you to YR and Michael Moriarty for the opportunity!

ArtNectar's Article About my Drawing-A-Day!

Funny what you find when you google yourself. I feel like a bit of a heel for not finding this sooner, but, I'm glad I found it! The folks over at ArtNectar did a little post about my Drawing-A-Day project back in 2011 and it's awesome.

Check it out!

And thanks to them for taking the time to profile my project!

A designer and fledgling writer with a passion for culture and the arts, decided to create a place where many facets of ‘art’ and ‘culture’ come together. A place where like minded people can come for some illustrated eye candy, an interesting article, read a movie review, watch an animated video, see where a new exhibition is opening, learn something new in the social media arena or merely gain some inspiration.

My Interview with 365Artists/365Days

I've been interviewed for a Frank Juarez Gallery project called 365 Artists/365 Days! I'm very proud to be part of this fascinating project and have to thank my fellow artist Carrie Fonder for turning me onto it.

The purpose of this project is to introduce its readership to a diverse collection of art that is being produced at the national and international level. Our goal is to engage the public with information regarding a wide array of creative processes, and present the successes and failures that artists face from day to day. The collaborators hope that this project will become a source for exploring and experiencing contemporary art in all its forms.
